Chiropractic‘s main premise is to assess the nervous system. The nervous system located in the brain and spinal column. The brain operates as the main computer and communicates with the rest of your body through the spinal cord within the spinal column. The spinal column is made up of individual bones called vertebrae. Nerves exit the spinal column at all segments of the vertebrae. When there is physical disruption at any level such as a fixation, tension, or injury, the nerves will not communicate with the brain properly. Chiropractors facilitate healing through gentle assessment and specific correction of the spinal column with what we call, adjustments. Most times this adjustment occurs through the hands of the chiropractor but sometimes an instrument called an Activator is necessary to apply for correction for an even gentler approach.

Applied kinesiology is a chiropractic method discovered in 1964 by Dr. George J. Goodheart Jr. D.C. This method uses your muscles to muscle test for the chiropractor to gain better understanding about your nervous system. This goes beyond the chiropractic adjustment into other natural healing approaches such as: acupuncture meridians, lymphatic reflexes, neurovasuclar reflexes, muscle work, organ reflexes, and nutrition. It allows for a more comprehensive approach to analyzing and treatment beyond the musculoskeletal problems.

One tool commonly used in office is the Arthrostim. This tool is used effectively to treat patient’s gently and in areas that may be more sensitive. Many patients prefer and even require a less aggressive approach to chiropractic adjustments. The Arthrostim delivers a comfortable and repeatable toggle adjustment. Operating at 12-14 beats per second, this rhythm facilitates change in the betasomatomotor rhythm of the patient’s nervous system. We have all heard and seen of many different stories and videos of patient’s being “cracked”. The Arthrostim allows Dr. Yoder to adjust in a safe and comfortable manor tailored to patient preferences while still delivering adjustments to the body and avoids all connotation of your chiropractic visit involving “cracking” or “popping”. https://arthrostim.store/product/pro-arthrostim-kit-byo-new/
